Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Office hours are not the same as Testing Hours.

What are the steps for taking Assessment Testing?
- Apply to De Anza by completing an online Admissions Application.
- Know your De Anza 8 digit Student ID number. This number is assigned when you complete your application.
- Read the test information and test question samples to determine which tests to take (English, ESL, Math, Chemistry, Biology).
- STUDENTS ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO REVIEW THEIR SKILLS BEFORE TAKING PLACEMENT TESTS. STUDENTS WHO DO NOT PREPARE FOR TESTING ARE LIKELY TO SCORE ONE OR MORE LEVELS BELOW THEIR LAST COMPLETED COURSE. STUDENTS MUST WAIT 6 MONTHS TO 1 YEAR TO RE-TEST.
- Testing is administered on drop-in basis. There are no appointments.
- For Computerized English, ESL, Math, and Biology 40A tests, drop-in to SCS 143 anytime during the posted testing hours.
- For Calculus, Chemistry 1A/ Biology 6A paper & pencil tests, report minimum 30 minutes prior to the test time at listed location. Testing locations may vary.
- Bring a photo I.D. (student ID card, driver's license, passport...)
- Bring several #2 pencils.
- Students who feel that they have either a learning disability or physical disability which might adversely affect their test results should contact the Disability Support Services at 408.864.8753 before testing.
- There are no fees for placement testing.
- Plan to take the test a minimum 3 weeks before your registration date.
